Former All Blacks coach Steve Hansen received his knighthood.
Hansen was given the title in the New Year’s Honours. His investiture, by Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy, was in Christchurch on Monday.
The long serving, 2015 World Cup-winning coach told Stuff in January he wouldn’t insist anyone calls him by his newly minted title.
“I’m just plain old Stephen and that’s how I’d prefer to be called going forward,” said Hansen, who accepted the title with “immense pride”.
